We Need Jesus

If you and I were to have a leaping contest from the Oregon Coast....you would win.

You would jump further than I into the waters of the Pacific.

However, if we had declared the only "winner" would be the one who reached the coast of Japan in one leap, than neither of us would win.  Even if you jumped an entire foot further than I, the distance is negligible due to the sheer distance which remains.

No matter how many good works one does or commands one keeps in order to justify oneself, it is all irrelevant because of the enormity of the chasm between each of us and the standard that perfection demands.

In other words, nobody is perfect.  Not even your youngest child!

That is why we all need Jesus.
